Blanck, Hubert de

Hubert de Blanck(1856-1932), Cuban composer, pianist and musical educator of Holland Dutch birth. He toured Sweden, Russia, and Germany as a pianist, conducted in Warsaw. Visiting South America, eventually settled in Havana, Cuba. He established the first conservatory, which later became the National Institute of Cuba. He composed piano pieces and songs.
