Boulanger, Nadia & Lili

Nadia Boulanger(1882-1979), French composer, well-known teacher, won the second prize of Prix de Rome, conducted in London and Washington. But she is remembered as a teacher, her students included Copland, Carter, Diamond, Piston... etc. ********* Lili Boulanger(1893-1918), French composer, sister of Nadia. She studied with her sister, then entered the Paris Conservatory. In 1913 she won the Priz de Rome. Despite her health problems, she wrote prolifically-orchestral music, violin sonata, and other chamber music.
